** COULD IT BE YOUR OWN MENTALITY THAT IS KEEPING YOU OUT OF YOUR PROMISED LAND? **

For the last three days we have been celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles. I only hope you have been joining in with us daily since Friday, for God is getting ready to do something great. And for those who are obedient will experience the benefits. 

For the last three days I’ve been sending you a daily email with the different blessings you can expect from God as you celebrate this Feast to Him. 

This year the Feast of Tabernacles is taking a little bit of a different journey. There is something God is working on the inside of us. You see, for 400 years the children of Israel served as slaves in Egypt. It was so bad that even when God delivered them from their oppressors, they were still being oppressed daily, only this time the oppression was in their minds.

For many this is what religion does. It clamps us down, it keeps us in bondage; imprisoned. Instead of enjoying what we have, many Christians today are stuck in a rut, stuck in a lifestyle they don’t want, stuck in a lifestyle they aren’t happy with. 

When God brought the Israelites out of Egypt, the first thing he began to do was to teach them how to walk day by day in faith. He rained manna from heaven but only enough for the day. He was teaching them how to be grateful, how to enjoy the moment, how to enjoy the blessings of God every single day of their lives. They were so used to slaving for somebody else that they could never enjoy their life. And this is what God wants to break in you as well.

You slave away every day, maybe it’s your career, or your relationship, or your children, or another area of your life, and yet when is the last time you actually stopped to enjoy your life? When is the last time you stopped to enjoy and just be grateful for what God has given you? Sure, right now you may not have everything that you desire in life, there are things you are still working towards, but are you grateful for what you have so far? Are you enjoying what you have in your hands today?

You see, the ability to be grateful is the key to tomorrow’s manna. It’s the door to open up your favour, to open up the abundance of God in your life. The Bible says we ought to “Rejoice in the Lord, and again I say rejoice” (Phillippians 4:4). It is the first step to really enjoying your life but also for allowing God to increase you.

The entire generation of Israelites that were born in Egypt ended up dying in the wilderness, save for Caleb and Joshua, because they were never grateful. They complained about the manna, the lack of food, the lack of water, they never appreciated the day that God blessed them with. It’s high time we stop complaining about what we don’t have, about everything that is wrong in our lives, and just begin to thank God for what we do have. If you drive a car, thank God for that car. If you take the bus to work, thank God for it. Children, no children, thank God! Thank God for the time you get to spend with your family, with your husband/wife. The more grateful we are, the more God will increase us.

As we are getting ready for Day 4 of the Feast of Tabernacles, here’s what I need you to do: 

1) Remember first and foremost that this is a Feast. Just listen to God and celebrate. Enjoy your money, enjoy your spouse/partner, enjoy your job, enjoy your children, enjoy your home, enjoy your car, just enjoy whatever God has given you. Enjoy it before the Lord.

3) Remember one of the requirements of this feast is that you don’t come before God empty-handed. Today I want you to give a special thanksgiving offering of £24. There are 24 hours in the day, and you need the grace of God to be grateful for all of them. Give your best, as you are able, according to the blessing He has given you. Remember this is a special daily offering to rejoice in what God has blessed you with. You are sharing it with Him.
