Dear Child of God,

On Monday we began our celebration of the Feast of The Tabernacles. 

Three times in the year you shall keep a feast to Me.You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread…Also you shall keep the Feast of Harvest [Pentecost], And [third] you shall keep the Feast of Ingathering [Booths or Tabernacles] at the end of the year, when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field.Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God.(Exodus 23:17)

We always hear about fasting in Christianity, but did you know the disciples of Jesus never even fasted during the three years they walked with Jesus? They never fasted but they sure did feast! You see, we have been educated to fast and to live without in order to get God’s attention. But obeying the Word of God is what gets His attention. And God has commanded us to hold this special feast unto Him. 

So as you read this email, I hope you have begun to feast. For the next 7 days, fill your house with food and drink, whatever your heart desires, and enjoy it before the Lord.  

BLESSING #1 OF THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES – YOU SHALL ENJOY YOUR LIFE

Behold, what I have seen to be good and fitting is for one to eat and drink, and to find enjoyment in all the labor in which he labors under the sun all the days which God gives him—for this is his [allotted] part. Also, every man to whom God has given riches and possessions, and the power to enjoy them and to accept his appointed lot and to rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God [to him]. For he shall not much remember [seriously] the days of his life, because God [Himself] answers and corresponds to the joy of his heart [the tranquillity of God is mirrored in him]. (Ecclesiastes 5:18-20)

For 430 years the children of Israel were enslaved in Egypt, but the day when God took over, He began to direct them and lead them out of bondage and into the Promise Land. 

These people were coming from generations of slavery. Everything they worked hard for all went to the Egyptians. Today many Christians are the same, they work hard, they struggle for somebody else, a boss, a company, etc. only to spend all their earnings on bills. Christianity has become associated with a lifestyle of struggle, of lack and depravation. 

But God promised them that He was taking them out from there, into a land that was large, flowing with milk and honey. It was a completely different mindset. It was such a shift that many found it impossible to let go of their old mentalities and ended up dying in the wilderness. 

God wants to bless you. God wants to give you more than you could ever imagine. But one of the things you must come to realise through this Feast of Tabernacles, is that God needs to give you power to enjoy what is yours. The Israelites never enjoyed what was theres. And so even after God brought them out of the land of slavery, they still never learned how to enjoy their life. 

I see many people that have money but they live as paupers. They can afford a new pair of shoes yet they will wear the one that is 15 years old. They can afford to eat well yet they are always shopping in the discounted section. What we think is a money-saving mentality is a poverty mentality. Am not talking about spending money that you don’t have and running up credit card debt, that’s another form of poverty. But am talking about when you have it yet you can’t enjoy it. 

This is what God wants to do through this Feast of Tabernacles, to give you power to enjoy what He has blessed you with. When you spend your money, when you go and use your earned money to bless yourself, to bless your children, to bless your family, you are actually opening up a door for more blessing to come into your life. Because whatever you keep celebrating in your life it will increase. That is why am not afraid to shop at expensive stores. Am not going to apologise for God’s blessing in my life. And because of that He keeps on blessing me. 

Today child of God, as you take that step of faith and begin to feast, begin to enjoy on purpose and intentionally, I pray that God will give you power to enjoy your wealth and possessions. And as you enjoy it, may it increase like never before.

I want you to think of these 7 days as a time of great fun and laughter.  Celebrate with your family, party, eat food, have fun, do what makes you happy, and do it to honor the Lord.
