Dear Child of God,

A few days ago, I sent you an email about how God has assigned everyone a specific path to their favour. I shared the importance of favour in your life, and how it is the difference maker when it comes to meeting the right person, excelling in the work place, etc.

But did you know that even if you already have or are walking in favour, you must be careful not to lose that favour?

The Bible tells us,

When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. Be careful that you do not forget the Lordyour God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied ….  You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” (Deut 8:10-12,17)

You see, the problem with favour is that once it opens up the door, many people get big-headed and think that it is their education, or their looks, etc which got them where they are, and they forget it was the favour of God that put them in that situation.

Noah knew it was the favour of God for his family to survive. We see the same thing with Joseph. Potiphar picked him up and put him in charge of his entire household. He never lost sight of the favour of God. Even in the prison, he knew it was the favour of God that was elevating him.

So, when God locates you, and fills your life with favour, never forget it. Otherwise, Deuteronomy 8 tells us what will happen.

If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. (Deuteronomy 8:19)

Some people have been raised up in a very wrong way. They have turned themselves to become wrong, very arrogant, full of pride, full of this and that. And they forget the favour.

Any man or woman in this world, who has ever given you something, which you could not get in the natural, that’s favour. Treasure that relationship, protect it, never forget it.

Even when you wake up in the morning, realise that is favour. Because many people didn’t even make it through the night. But when you wake up thinking it’s your right, and you begin to complain to God, asking Him why this? And why that? This destroys the favour of God over your life. Each and every one of us have things which cultivate favour. It may be a person, a place, a thing. For example, you have a roof on top of your head, or a nice car to drive in, that is favour. Don’t become familiar. Don’t forget. 

This is how people fall from grace to grass, because they forget it was the favour of God that lifted them up.

Is that not what happened to King Saul? He came from the smallest tribe of Israel. He was just out looking for his lost donkey, when Samuel anointed him to be the first king of Israel. But shortly after he was anointed, he allowed pride to fill his heart, and thought that he knew better. It was not long before God stripped him of his kingdom.  

 Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors—to one better than you. (1 Samuel 15:28)

For me, I can never forget where God took me from. It doesn’t matter what position I am in now; I will remind myself where I came from; that it’s the favour of God I am what I am. Because the favour you cultivate, is the favour that grows.

It doesn’t matter how upset I am , it doesn’t matter what will make me become angry. There is one thing I will never disrespect, and that is the path of my favour.

There is a path to favour. And as long as you follow that path of favour, there may be many things that will come to knock you off of that path, it could be pride, deception, confusion, but as long as you focus on that path, it will lead you home; it will lead you to your wealthy place.

When you look at David, there was a path of favour that he followed. David said we went through the fire, we went through the water, but God brought us to a wealthy place.

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: But thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place. (Psalms 66:12)

You must locate the path of your favour. Your path of favour could be a person. You see, there was no problem with Saul’s management as a king. But the favour departed from Saul when he stopped respecting Samuel.

Sometimes it’s a particular career, a business, a place, a mentality, etc that you will need to keep; you will need to guard it in order to keep walking in that favour.

David’s favour was not based on a person but on a path that he had to take. And anytime he would get off course, he would have his prophets to help him back on to the right path. Elijah’s favour was based on a place. God would send him from one place to another, and only in those places would he find favour.

You need to find the path to your favour. Once you are in that path, once you are in that favour, everything about you is beautiful; everything about you is amazing. You will go through situations but you will always come out on top.

I prophesy into your life: “May you experience favour in every area of your life. Because of favour, may God lift you up. Because of favour, may God remember you.”

The BIble tells us in Psalms 85:12-13 The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps. (Psalms 85:12-13)

and in Psalms 5:12 that Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
